Diagnostische Endoskopie des tiefen Dünndarms
摘要
Endoscopy of the deep small intestine presents a challenge due to anatomical considerations. Only the technological advancements in the 21st century have made endoscopic diagnosis and therapy possible in this previously endoscopically inaccessible area. Examination of the deep small intestine is called enteroscopy, and the procedures used for this are collectively referred to as device-assisted enteroscopy (DAE). Due to the complexity of the examination methods, the procedures are reserved for specialized centers. The indication for this examination should be well-founded and typically follows previous diagnostic procedures. These include, in addition to the patient’s history, clinical examination, blood and stool parameters, and primarily noninvasive imaging. Depending on the suspected location of the finding, enteroscopy can be performed via an oral or an anal route. In cases of suspected findings in the upper jejunum, push-enteroscopy (intestinoscopy) may be sufficient.
