Entscheidungsunterstützung und Assistenzsysteme im mittleren und unteren Gastrointestinaltrakt
摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) in gastroenterology found its first applications in endoscopy. In this article, we shed light on the history of the development of AI for polyp detection and characterization, on the results of randomized clinical trials, and on the interesting conclusion of the latest meta-analyses. In addition, we show the possibilities that AIs offer for recording and complying with quality indicators. Among other things, the real-time withdrawal speed monitoring and the automatic polyp size determination are discussed here. New methods for AI-based determination and visualization of the degree of inflammation in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases are also presented. Other new products are AI-based diagnostic support systems for capsule endoscopy. We show what else can be expected from the systems in addition to significant time savings.
