Its cultivation creates economic opportunities in rural communities, stimulating local economies and providing jobs in mushroom cultivation and leather manufacturing. However, challenges remain, such as the need for further research on its mechanical properties and biodegradability. <i>G. lucidum</i>–derived leather represents a promising solution to the challenges facing the fashion industry, offering a sustainable and ethical alternative that meets the demands of conscious consumers and promotes environmental stewardship.</p>
