Baecke habitual physical activity questionnaire: proposal of the 2.0 version (BAECKE 2.0) for the Brazilian population
摘要
The present study introduces the version 2.0 of the Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire (BAECKE 2.0), analyzing the content and structural validity of this updated version of the instrument in Brazilian adults.
MethodsHealthy individuals of both sexes, physically active or inactive, with Brazilian Portuguese as native language and aged 18 years or older were included. Content validity was conducted by a group of seven experts who analyzed problematic items, and the content validity coefficient (CVC) was calculated based on their responses. Structural validity was assessed by means of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using the following fit indices: root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) with a 90% confidence interval, comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), standardized root mean square residual (SRMR), and chi-square/degrees of freedom (DF).
ResultsThe sample consisted of 234 participants, mostly female (62.4%), single (65.4%), and had completed or were completing higher education (52.1%). The CVC showed adequate values (≥ 0.90) for content validity in the 5 proposed changes and updates to the BAECKE 2.0. The internal structure with 3 domains (occupational, sport and leisure) and 16 items presented adequate fit indices: CFI = 0.950, TLI = 0.941, RMSEA = 0.063, SRMR = 0.074, chi-square/DF = 1.92. Factor loadings ranged from 0.31 to 0.87, within the acceptable cutoff range.
ConclusionThe BAECKE 2.0 with 3 domains and 16 items presented adequate content and structural validity. This updated version shows promising initial characteristics and other measurement properties should be evaluated in the future.
