Objective <p>To demonstrate how connective tissue dysplasia impairs musculoskeletal adaptation to physical activity in young individuals.</p> Methods <p>This narrative review was conducted using recent data from the following sources: Elsevier, Global Health, PubMed/Medline, Embase, Scopus, ResearchGate, the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative, the Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, Elibrary.ru, and CyberLeninka.</p> Results <p>The genetic and/or environmentally induced defects in the synthesis or remodeling of intercellular matrix components, as seen in connective tissue dysplasia, result in the formation of incomplete connective tissue, and significant changes in its biomechanical properties. These defects primarily affect the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system, decreasing its initial resistance to physical activity and post-exercise adaptive potential at a young age.</p> Conclusions <p>An initial assessment of young people who want to engage in physical training and sports should include obligatory connective tissue screening. For those with connective tissue dysplasia, recommended activities include regular aerobic exercises such as swimming, walking, moderate jogging, cycling, exercise bike riding, skiing in the winter, and playing sports such as badminton, bowling, and table tennis. The ballet classes and group sports games associated with a high injury risk are not advisable. The training regimen should be strictly personalized.</p>
