Wearable Self-Grounding Slit Antenna for Biomedical Applications
摘要
A wearable self-grounding slit antenna is a specialized type of antenna designed to be worn on the human body. It is proposed here because of its key advantages for wireless communication and health monitoring applications. Since it is designed with compact and lightweight, it is better suited for wearable devices. The significance of having self-grounding is to establish a reliable ground plane without requiring additional external grounding structures. This improves the antenna’s performance by providing a stable reference point for the antenna’s operation, which can enhance signal quality and reduce interference. The slit structure also provides better efficiency. The proposed antenna is made by the Polyimide substrate, which has the height of 0.15 mm and dielectric value of 3.5 and the overall measurements of the antenna are 44 mm × 40 mm × 0.15 mm. It mainly covers ISM band and ensures reliable data transmission over short range communication potentially utilizing Bluetooth, Wi-fi or other wireless technologies. It explores the SAR value for the human body as 0.56 W/Kg and 0.93 W/Kg which is within the tolerable threshold and makes it suitable for biomedical applications.
