Micromachined octa-port high self isolation asymmetric tapered feed MIMO antenna with flexible capabilities and SAR analysis integrating 5G-sub 6 GHz, microwave, and millimeter-wave applications

Octa-port MIMO antenna with dual-band characteristics is presented. The offset-tapered feed with three etched circular-slots is presented on the top surface of the dielectric with a permittivity of 2.33 and thickness of 0.254 mm. The opposite surface is printed with ground which is achieved by merging rectangular-ellipse patches and inclusive of etched rectangular-slot. A thin strip is also merged with ground which is part and is responsible for narrow-band extraction. The Octa-port MIMO antenna occupies an area of 2975 mm2 which is also micro-machined at the center to reduce the effects of the surface waves. The MIMO configuration achieves the impedance bandwidth of 3.476–3.875 GHz and 6.84–80.0 GHz. The port-to-port isolation is more than 20.0 dB.
