<p>In cognitive radio (CR) networks, the detection accuracy of the receiver is significantly depend on the appropriate selection of the threshold parameter. Therefore the need for finding the optimum threshold is arised which will not only improves the receiver’s accuracy but also improves CR performance. In this paper, the closed form expressions for Detection Probability (<i>Pd</i>) for CV2X communication is derived for the Modified Threshold (MT)-based Energy Detector (ED) spectrum sensing approach. We consider Uniform and Exponential Correlation schemes for the Multiple Input Multiple Output system over Maximum Ratio Combining diversity. The derived expressions are tested and validated through the simulation and compared with the conventional Static threshold-based ED. The impact of the Signal to Noise Ratio and the False Alarm Probability (<i>Pf</i>) is also observed on the detection performance. It is observed from the simulation results that the MT-based ED outperforms the conventional approach.</p>
