A novel multi agents-based clustering algorithm for VANETs in 5G networks

摘要

In recent, the rapid development of mobile communication systems has been forming advanced communications architectures among vehicles, so-called Vehicle Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). VANETs are a collection of vehicles equipped with wireless communication modules. These modules have abilities to self-configuring and self-establish parameters to communicate with others conveniently without relying on base stations or pre-installed infrastructures. VANETs are one of the most important components in intelligent transportation systems. Some unique characteristics of VANETs, such as pattern mobility and high speed, lead to the architecture of VANETs being frequently changed. In VANETs, one of the most significant challenges is the vehicle clustering problem. In this study, we propose a reliable clustering algorithm based on multi-agents to improve cluster stability and system performance. The simulation results on NS2 have proved that our proposed solution prolongs the cluster's lifetime and improves system performance compared to traditional algorithms.
