摘要

Freshwater ecosystems globally are facing unprecedented pressures from human activity and climate change, making their protection and restoration essential for environmental sustainability. Wetlands, in particular, provide critical ecological services that support biodiversity, regulate climate, and underpin human livelihoods. Environmental crises and the depletion of natural resources–especially the degradation of water bodies–remain among the most urgent challenges confronting humanity. This study explores the key factors driving the restoration of Parishan Wetland in Fars Province, Iran, by analyzing the perspectives of diverse stakeholders. It also examines the role of agricultural extension services alongside private and civil society institutions in fostering stakeholder engagement throughout the restoration process. Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate and compare the views of seven main stakeholder groups: Elite Farmers (EF), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and experts from the Organization of Environmental Conservation (OEC), Natural Resources Administration (NRA), Water Resources Department (WRD), Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department (CHHTD), and the Organization of Agriculture Jihad (OAJ). Data were gathered through 35 structured questionnaires and analyzed using Expert Choice 11 and SPSS 26. The findings reveal both convergent and divergent priorities: economic concerns predominate among EF and OAJ, environmental priorities dominate for OEC and NRA, and social aspects are central to CHHTD, NGOs, and WRD. The study underscores the importance of aligning stakeholder perspectives and enhancing collaboration among groups with shared priorities to strengthen local engagement and promote an integrated, sustainable restoration of Parishan Wetland.
