Feather-Based Keratin Nano Materials for Circular Economy and Environmental Applications
摘要
The emphasis on transition towards a circular economy has made it indispensable to adopt sustainable materials that result in environmental harmony. One of the key proteins is Keratin, a fibrous protein, acting as a chief ingredient in feathers, fur, and hair and similar biological structures. The contention of this paper is that feather—based keratin nanomaterials have versatile potential to contribute to a circular economy environmental sustainability. It discusses the keratin extraction, its versatile properties, and its applications in environmental pollution remediation and sustainability. Moreover, it underscores the possibility offered by feather – based keratin products so as to reduce waste, to enable optimal utilization of resources and to promote a circular economy, thereby enabling an environmentally minded posterity.
