Preparation and Characterization of Ceramsites by Mixing Fly Ash and Sludge and Their Adsorption on NH4+-N and Cu2+
摘要
As a manufactured product of artificial lightweight aggregate, ceramsites nowadays have a very rich and wide application prospect. With the development of science and technology, its production process has been greatly simplified, which is an effective method for resource utilization of solid waste. In this study, fly ash and dehydrated sludge produced by sewage treatment plants were used as research objects, and liquid sodium silicate was adopted as an additive, and fly ash, sludge, and liquid sodium silicate with a mass ratio of 7:3:2 were mixed as raw materials. Ceramsites were successfully prepared through drying, preheating, sintering and other processes. The physical and chemical properties of the ceramsites were further characterized and analyzed by SEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, FTIR and BET. The ceramsites achieved a NH₄⁺-N removal efficiency of 61.4% under the conditions of 50 mg/L, pH 7, 10 g/L dosage, and 25 °C. For Cu2⁺, a removal efficiency of 66.5% was obtained at 0.5 mg/L, pH 7, 20 g/L dosage, 25 °C, and 18 h of adsorption.
