摘要

The strong greenhouse gas methane elevates global temperatures so tracking and controlling its emissions require specialized monitoring approaches throughout the various industrial sectors. Current review examines modern technological solutions used for methane emission assessment along with mitigation strategies in the oil and gas domain and agriculture sector as well as waste management sector. High-priority leak detection in extensive areas of the oil and gas industry becomes possible through drone sensors and satellite-based systems which provide precise methane detection capabilities. Methane reductions reach significant levels when the oil and gas sector uses improved leak detection programs that repair leaks and implements carbon capture systems. Rice cultivation and livestock production in agriculture get tracked through ground sensors and flux chambers which determine the effectiveness of dietary changes and alternate crop-watering approaches as reduction techniques. Landfill gas monitoring systems and biogas capture technologies used by waste management operations lower emissions that result from organic decompositions at landfills. This review synthesizes sector-specific methane monitoring and mitigation strategies, emphasizing cross-sectoral synergies and emerging technologies like AI and blockchain to achieve global climate goals.
