<p>This study investigates the activity patterns and interspecific interactions of native mammals with stray dogs and humans in a fragmented urban forest in Sakarya, Türkiye. Using camera trap data collected over one year, we analyzed the temporal overlap between species such as red foxes (<i>Vulpes vulpes</i>), golden jackals (<i>Canis aureus</i>), Eurasian badgers (<i>Meles meles</i>), Caucasian squirrels (<i>Sciurus anomalus</i>), and domestic cats (<i>Felis catus</i>). Our results reveal moderate to high activity overlaps: stray dogs and golden jackals (∆4 = 0.55), dogs and Caucasian squirrels (∆4 = 0.70), and foxes and dogs (∆4 = 0.46). Notably, badgers displayed low overlap (∆4 = 0.22), indicating potential avoidance behavior. The significant overlap between stray dogs and certain native species indicates increased potential for direct and indirect interactions, with implications for native wildlife conservation and urban ecosystem management. Our findings provide crucial insights into how stray dogs influence the activity and spatial behavior of urban mammals, emphasizing the urgent need for wildlife management strategies to mitigate these impacts, especially given Türkiye’s escalating stray dog populations.</p>
