摘要

The comment to the paper by Notaro et al. (2025) addresses the problem of the impact of beekeeping on the environment. Bees are crucial for the pollination of many wild and crop plants, and studies showing a decline in their numbers and species diversity are concerning and call for action. Setting up new apiaries may seem a logical way to enhance bee populations, but beekeeping is not a means of protecting bees and can itself be a threat to wild bee populations.
