<p>Agro-industrial activities generate large volumes of organic residues that are frequently underutilized or improperly managed, contributing to environmental pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and nutrient losses. Therefore, it is necessary to promote the valorization of these by-products through integrated production systems. One such strategy involves the use of agro-industrial wastes as substrates for cultivating <i>Pleurotus ostreatus</i>, followed by the reutilization of the resulting spent mushroom substrate (SMS) as animal feed. This study evaluated the feasibility of using SMS from <i>P. ostreatus</i> as a functional dietary component for sheep. The objective was to determine whether supplementation with SMS could maintain productive performance while contributing to the revalorization of agro-industrial residues. Twenty mixed-breed Dorper × Katahdin sheep were assigned to either a control diet or a diet supplemented with 20% SMS (dry matter basis) over 30 days (5 days of adaptation and 25 days of experimentation). Diets were chemically characterized, and response variables included voluntary dry matter intake, body weight, daily weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and body condition score. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA or non-parametric tests. The SMS-supplemented diet showed higher crude protein (5%) and ash content (6%), and lower fiber levels (6%) compared to the control. No significant differences were observed in intake, weight gain, or body condition. However, animals receiving SMS exhibited improved feed conversion efficiency, indicating enhanced nutrient utilization without compromising performance. These findings demonstrate that <i>P. ostreatus</i> SMS can be effectively integrated into sheep diets, providing a sustainable alternative feed ingredient and supporting circular economy strategies in agro-industrial systems.</p>
