摘要

In vitro techniques provide haploid and double haploid plant production protocols in a short time over conventional protocols. It reduces the time of selection for homozygous pure line, only requirement for breeding purposes and releasing a new variety of plant species. Haploids can be produced by using different methods of in vivo and in vitro like hybridization followed by chromosome elimination, parthenogenesis, and androgenesis. In vitro gynogenesis is a process of producing haploids using an unfertilized ovary under a controlled environment. It depends on various types of biotic and abiotic factors of the in vitro environment. Genotype and physiological conditions of the mother plant are the primary factors that determine the response of the explant to other factors. Plant growth regulators are either endogenous or exogenously affect the differentiation of apozygotic embryogenesis playing a role of both biotic and abiotic factors. Temperature as an abiotic factor plays a major role in turning the fate of cell proliferation by making them competent to modify their fate map. This report compiles available in vitro gynogenic embryogenesis protocols and their influencing key factors. It covers the regulatory genes and expression pathways involved in apozygotic in vivo and in vitro gynogenic embryogenesis. The outcomes can increase the understanding of in vitro gynogenesis regulation that will further support the application of in vitro gynogenesis for haploid and double haploid development.
