摘要

The contact of two elastic isotropic bodies with matched flat surfaces in the presence of local wear along a streak with a constant coefficient of friction, outside which there is no friction, is investigated. The Panasyuk–Andreikiv–Chernets model is used; it assumes that abrasion occurs only in those areas of the contact surface where the specific friction force exceeds a certain threshold value. The corresponding contact problem in the theory of elasticity is reduced to a singular integral equation with a Cauchy kernel for the thickness of the worn material, which is solved analytically. The influence of load, coefficient of friction, and abrasion streak width on the distribution of contact pressure and the thickness of the worn material after the abrasion process is analyzed.
