<p>This paper discusses the design of a novel biosensor based on the phenomenon of surface plasmon resonance for early pregnancy detection. The concept, designing architecture and performance evaluating parameters of the proposed SPR sensor are discussed to highlight its capability of rapid and sensitive detection of pregnancy biomarkers. The results of the proposed work are evaluated with MATLAB software-based simulation worked out under transfer matrix method and finite element method based COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 software. The sensor consists of materials Ag, MgF<sub>2</sub>, and black phosphorous. The results demonstrate that the proposed biosensing design possesses a sensitivity of 455 °/RIU with a figure of merit value of 81.54. The proposed work discusses about the feasibility of developing the architecture of the SPR sensor along with its accuracy in results pertaining to the early pregnancy detection.</p>
