摘要

Health impairment and attrition of teachers have persisted despite longstanding efforts made in the educational field. The demands they face and the resources they access in the workplace greatly impact their well-being and turnover intentions. Regarding that, we utilize the Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) to identify the profiles of university teachers from a person-centered perspective. The results display five demand-resource profiles: overwhelmed, unencumbered, empowered, average, and demanding based on four variables of institutional resources, interpersonal resources, self-efficacy, and teaching-research balance pressure. Teachers within the empowered and demanding profiles perform better while those within the overwhelmed and unencumbered profiles perform worse. The distribution of teachers in five profiles shows significant differences in terms of gender, professional title, highest educational qualification, discipline, and the ownership and type of universities. Practical implications are provided for universities to support teachers so that they will invest more time and energy into teaching activities, improving their teaching quality and job satisfaction while reducing burnout.
