The ESA SMILE Science Operations Centre and Data Formats Working Group
摘要
The ESA SMILE Science Operations Centre (SOC) is hosted at the European Space Astronomy Centre near Madrid, Spain. It has the responsibility of providing the European SMILE archive to the scientific community as well as exchanging data between the Soft X-Ray Imager team and the Chinese ground segment. The SOC also provides the SMILE consortium with quicklook analysis tools that allow for payload-wide situational awareness, instrument performance monitoring and prompt scientific event selection. The SOC has coordinated the activities of the SMILE Data Formats Working Group (DFWG), a forum for the consortium to discuss data-related matters, especially important given the diverse approaches to data processing, formats and usage in the communities that are brought together by the SMILE mission. Here we describe the role, responsibilities and design of the ESA SMILE SOC, and outline the activities of the DFWG in the years up to the launch of SMILE.
