The Tyumen ethical and philosophical tradition: events and ideas

Tyumen began to turn into a concentration of ethical and philosophical thought in the second half of the twentieth century. It was there that Fedor Andreevich Selivanov, the creator of the concept of rationalist ethics, landmark in the history of Soviet ethics, lived and worked; Vladimir Iosifovich Bakshtanovsky, the pioneer of applied ethics in Russia also lived here, as did Yuri Mikhailovich Fedorov, the author of the original anthropocosmist concept of morality and others. The industrial development of the Tyumen North has influenced the social and cultural situation in the region and filled it with an intellectual atmosphere. The article shows how extraordinary events bring to life extraordinary ideas.
