摘要

Construction and operation of buildings and structures on permafrost are complicated owing to climatic and man-made impacts that cause changes in the behavior of soils and structures. A review of the design and operation features of the most typical buildings built in the cryolithozone is given. The causes of deformations and restoration measures are analyzed. The need for geotechnical monitoring is stated for timely detection of trends in changes (increases) in the temperature of foundations during operation and for taking prompt stabilizing measures.
