<p>A method for reconstructing the compression curve based on the approximation of the dependence of the compression index on the effective stress by a logistic function is proposed. The compression curve is reconstructed by numerical optimization, including the symmetrization of the difference in porosity coefficients between the laboratory and reconstructed compression curves in the area of the pre-compaction pressure. Unlike the Schmertmann method, the proposed method does not use the criterion of intersection of the normal compaction line in the sample and the reconstructed curve.</p>
