Temperature Conditions and Stress-Strain State of Permafrost Base Strengthened by Jet Grouting

Jet grouting with the formation of soil-cement elements (SCE) is a promising technology for strengthening base structures in permafrost areas. In order to facilitate the implementation of this technology, a long-term forecast of the temperature regime and stress-strain state (SSS) of SCE-strengthened bases is required, considering the effect of global warming. The Frost 3D software package was used to forecast temperature regimes and deformations in the slab foundation of an industrial facility constructed on a permafrost SCE-strengthened base under the action of soil thawing. The latter occurs due to the thermal influence of the facility under study and global warming. It is shown that coarse-grained bases reinforced by jet grouting demonstrate an insignificant decrease in the thickness of the seasonally thawed layer and a decrease in the temperature of permafrost soils. Proposals on managing the SSS of transformed bases are formulated, which include thermal insulation and optimization of construction duration. These measures should ensure reliable operation of constructed facilities.
