摘要

The paper describes the practical experience of a chemical stabilization of loess soil foundations of buildings and industrial facilities in Volgodonsk, using the single-component silicate solution method. It is pointed out that the low permeability of the compacted soil bed under the foundation bottom and excessive moisture content in the zone of capillary water rise above the groundwater table are insufficiently accounted for. The paper suggests considering the specific changes in density and moisture content between the foundation bottom and the ground water table of loess soils subjected to silicate solution treatment. Reliable values of soil density and moisture content are proposed to be obtained using geophysical (radioisotope) methods. The feasibility of a predictive assessment of the deformation of the surrounding buildings caused by changes in the hydrogeological conditions of the territory with soils subjected to stabilization is substantiated.
