Modeling of Shear Deformation and Structural Changes of Soil-Type Media

Structural changes of soil-type media are known to occur with the structural destruction of soil bonds and the rock mass skeleton. Thus, structural destruction of the soil and rock mass affects the mechanical and strength parameters of the soil. Using existing experimental data and principles of building models of deformation of a continuum, an equation of state of shear deformation of soil and rock mass is obtained accounting for structural changes. A parametric analysis of the proposed model of deformation of soils is carried out and the applicability of the model in practical tasks is demonstrated. The use of the proposed model of deformation allows us to theoretically determine the terms and methods of failure and crushing of soils and rock mass under different types of loading.
