<p>Translating Algerian family law is a regarded to by translation studies specialists as thorny operation that embodies, par excellence, the difficulty of safe migration between divergent linguistic and cultural systems. Algerian family law being inspired from the Islam among others comprises evidently many terms and components along with loads which acknowledge semantically no total correspondence that might accordingly lead to; hiding or distorting the truth contained in the source provision or likely leading the translator to resort to unusual non-routine mechanisms justified maybe by the lexical gaps and difficulty of rendition. This paper shall come to explore at first place the challenges facing the rendition of the Algerian family law officially translated into French and unofficially translated into English and shall investigate the accuracy and unelectable gaps in an attempt to trace the death of the truth defined in the source provisions or likely the opposite, to enable at a later stage exploring translators’ choices in facing and mitigating rendition failures investigating the reasons. The corpus of the study shall be the officially translated version of family law into French by the Government of Algeria and published on the official website of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.</p>
