Background and Aim <p>The emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has brought about a range of health implications, including potential effects on menstrual health in women. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the current evidence on the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 infection and menstrual disorders in women.</p> Methods <p>A systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase databases was conducted to identify relevant studies published up to July 2024. The studies reporting on menstrual disorders in women with SARS-CoV-2 infection were included in the review. The Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) tool was used to assess the quality of the studies. Additionally, this study was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.</p> Results <p>A total of 10 studies were included in the review. The studies varied in design, with a combination of cross-sectional studies, case reports, and cohort studies. The quality of the included studies ranged from moderate to good, with most studies demonstrating adequate methodological rigor. The findings demonstrated a potential association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and menstrual disorders in women.</p> Conclusion <p>Some studies reported menstrual irregularities, changes in menstrual patterns, and increased severity of menstrual symptoms in women with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Moreover, some studies also reported an association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and the development of new-onset menstrual disorders.</p>
