摘要

An experimental study is carried out to determine the limiting characteristics in the short-circuit operation mode and form a minimum-duration bipolar signal in the mode of closing the central core of the coaxial lines to the braid with a back-turned S‑diode having a cross-sectional area of 31.4 mm2 at a number of active voltage levels. The value of the minimum duration of a transition to the conductive state is found to be 2.11 ns at a voltage level of 490 V. A possibility is shown of forming an asymmetric bipolar signal with a period of 2.53 ns, a transition duration of 1.54 ns, and an amplitude 4 times smaller than that of the active signal, and a signal with a period of 5.1 ns and an amplitude twice smaller than that of the original signal with different circuit solutions. The data obtained demonstrate a possible line length influence on the duration of the S‑diode transition to the conductive state and require taking into account the limiting diode currents at the time of switching.
