Influence of atmospheric conditions on image contrast in range-gated laser vision systems
摘要
The influence of atmospheric conditions on image contrast in range-gated vision systems is investigated using the statistical simulation method. Changes in the image contrast of a system operating through high atmospheric turbidity are considered. An improved calculation technique based on the Monte Carlo algorithm that takes into account reflection from the ground surface and object, obstruction of the receiver field-of-view, and influence of the turbid medium has been proposed. Numerical simulation shows dependences of the image contrast on the distance to the object and atmospheric conditions. The results obtained demonstrate a decrease in image contrast with increasing distance to the object as well as the influence of range-gating parameters on the image quality.
