An analysis of meteorological conditions and concentrations of atmospheric impurities in the city of Ufa
摘要
Based on instrumental measurements of the Roshydromet Network, an analysis of meteorological conditions and atmospheric air pollution levels was performed for the city of Ufa. The analyzed characteristics included concentrations of suspended solids, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide at 9 stationary stations from 2017 to 2021. A comparison of data from the Roshydromet Observation Network and the Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology (CHE) of the Republic of Bashkortostan was performed. When analyzing the quality of atmospheric air along with the maximum permissible concentration (MPC), the associated air pollution index (API) was used. It was established that the level of air pollution for 2017–2021 in the city of Ufa was elevated and was mainly determined by high concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and suspended solids. Meteorological conditions in recent years also contributed to the increase of the pollutant concentration in the atmosphere of the city: when the number of days with precipitation decreased, the frequency of air stagnation and elevated temperature inversions increased.
