Increasing the threshold amplitude of the pulsed magnetic field causing irreversible deformation of a steel inductor

A possibility of enhancing the maximum (threshold) amplitude of pulsed magnetic fields Bth generated by a cylindrical, thick-walled steel inductor is examined, while remaining in the range of elastic deformations. For this purpose, a material with spatially nonuniform resistivity ρe is used. The analyzed resistivity profiles reveal the possibility of more than a double increase in the threshold magnetic field Bth.
