Simulation by discrete element method using complex particles
摘要
Granular materials are characterized by complex mechanical behavior influenced significantly by the complex shape of real particles. An effective approach to studying the mechanical behavior of granular materials is currently simulation using the discrete element method. This paper presents a new model of a particle of complex shape with a minimal but sufficient number of constituent elements to reduce computer simulation time and a list of tests for verifying this model.
