摘要

In the present study, the structure and properties of borated austenitic steel after heat treatment are analyzed. The main structural components of the as-modified layers were Fe2B and austenite and iron boride based eutectic. The coatings had a high microhardness of 15 GPa, and their wear resistance was three times that of the base material. It has been demonstrated that the process of quenching and subsequent aging slightly enhanced the wear resistance of the modified layer due to the formation of FeNiB in the eutectic.
