摘要

The changes in structure and strength of the 1965 aluminum alloy ingot caused by the isothermal multi-step forging and cryorolling are analyzed. It is shown that forging, in addition to refining grains and excess phases, increases the homogeneity of the spatial distribution of transition metal (TM) aluminides and improves the alloy strength and ductility in the T6 condition. The development of a nanocellular structure with strings of excess phases and uniformly distributed TM aluminides due to cryorolling leads to a unique strength-ductility balance in the naturally aged alloy.
