<p>A new one-pot synthesis of 2-[<i>N</i>-(benzothiazol-2-yl)amino]-2<i>H</i>-chromenes involves the reaction of pyrimidine-2-thiones with 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile in the presence of DBU. The starting tricyclic reactants were obtained <i>via</i> the Biginelli reaction from salicylaldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, and thiourea.</p>

A new one-pot synthesis of 2-[N-(benzothiazol-2-yl)amino]-2H-chromenes involves the reaction of pyrimidine-2-thiones with 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile in the presence of DBU. The starting tricyclic reactants were obtained via the Biginelli reaction from salicylaldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, and thiourea.
