<p>The pathway of the reactions of imino-λ<sup>3</sup>-iodanes PhI=NSO<sub>2</sub>R (R = CF<sub>3</sub>, 4-MeC<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>) with chalcone depends on the nature of the oxidizing agent and the solvent. The reactions with halogen-containing oxidizers afforded a wide range of derivatives, including halo amides, halo amidines, 1,2-disubstituted imidazoline, and the 1,2-diamination product, depending on the solvent (acetonitrile or dichloromethane).</p>

The pathway of the reactions of imino-λ3-iodanes PhI=NSO2R (R = CF3, 4-MeC6H4) with chalcone depends on the nature of the oxidizing agent and the solvent.
