Biological properties and thermal stability of Ag-substituted hydroxyapatite obtained via mechanochemical synthesis
摘要
The paper reports on a study of the biological properties and thermal stability of hydroxyapatite with partial substitution of calcium with silver, obtained via mechanochemical synthesis. It is shown that at low concentrations of the substituent the material exhibits cytotoxicity against HepG2 cancer cells, is not cytotoxic against the human fibroblast cell line MRC5, and demonstrates toxicity against the human osteoblast-like MG-63 cells. At high concentrations of silver in the material, it demonstrates antibacterial activity against an isolate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Analysis of the phase composition of samples with various silver contents revealed a considerable decrease in the thermal stability of hydroxyapatite, which must be taken into account when manufacturing products from this material.
