<p>A general method was developed for the nitrolysis of 3-R-1,5-dinitro-1,3,5-triazepanes, which is accompanied by the triazepane ring opening and <i>N</i>-nitration, to form linear nitramines as 1-acetoxy-2,5,7-trinitro-2,5,7-triazaoctane derivatives. The structures of these compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods.</p>

A general method was developed for the nitrolysis of 3-R-1,5-dinitro-1,3,5-triazepanes, which is accompanied by the triazepane ring opening and N-nitration, to form linear nitramines as 1-acetoxy-2,5,7-trinitro-2,5,7-triazaoctane derivatives. The structures of these compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods.
