摘要

Interest is essential in education, as it enhances student motivation and learning outcomes. Situational interest (SI), which instructional strategies can influence, is important for engaging students in subjects such as physics. This study aimed to validate a French version of the Situational Interest Survey (SIS; Linnenbrink-Garcia et al., 2010) among Senegalese middle and high school students in physics classes. Following a transcultural validation procedure (Lauzier et al., 2023), we evaluated the factor structure and psychometric properties of the SIS. The study involved two distinct samples of students: Sample 1 (n = 1,444) and Sample 2 (n = 1,033). Confirmatory factor analysis supported the three-factor model of situational interest: triggered-SI, maintained-SI-feeling, and maintained-SI-value. The SIS has satisfactory reliability and validity, including convergent and divergent validity.
