<p>Presently, Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Turkey (MINT) nations are making significant efforts to enhance public health while addressing environmental challenges. It is vital to understand the key factors affecting life expectancy (LEX). This present investigation examines the relationships among environmental pollution (ENP), environmental regulation (ENR), green digitalization (GDI), and clean energy use (CEU), and their combined influence on life expectancy in MINT nations, using panel data from 1990 to 2023. The research applies cutting-edge econometric models, including Driscoll and Kraay standard errors (DSK) and the latest cross-sectional autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL) techniques. The findings reveal that environmental regulations, green digitalization, and clean energy use significantly enhance life expectancy. Conversely, environmental pollution is found to negatively impact life expectancy. Additionally, the study confirms a unidirectional causal interplay between environmental pollution, environmental regulation, green digitalization, clean energy use, and life expectancy, while also noting a bidirectional causal flow between environmental pollution and environmental regulations. These insights provide a strategic framework for MINT and international economies to invest in green technologies, cleaner energy sources, and stringent environmental policies. Such investments can help achieve sustainable growth, improve public health, and ultimately enhance life expectancy for people.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
