摘要

Divorce can result in various consequences for individuals, influenced by factors such as gender. The study aimed to identify the damages of divorce among Iranian women comprehensively from different lenses of counselors, psychologies, and social workers. This qualitative study used a conventional content analysis approach, heterogeneous purposive sampling, and data triangulation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 27 mental health experts with professional experience in post-divorce psychological interventions. According to the findings, the micro-level theme includes 5 categories of personal, family, ex-husband, child, and friend damage, and the macro-level theme 3 categories of economic, legal, and cultural damage. Recognition of the impact of all identified factors, and considering the double impact of culture as a macro factor on some micro-level factors, is necessary for any plan to decrease divorce damages. The results can assist policymakers and mental health professionals in creating principal interventions and enhancing support resources to mitigate the adverse effects of divorce on women.
