<p>This study examines the economic resilience of the tourism sector in Mexico, focusing on the subsectors of temporary accommodation and food and beverage service during four economic crises (1994–1995, 2000–2002, 2008–2009, and 2019–2022). Using a comparative and sectoral-regional approach, the resilience and recovery capacities of tourism during recessions are analyzed, incorporating the most relevant theoretical and methodological contributions on economic resilience. For the two most recent crises, a spatial analysis of the tourism sector is included to identify persistent patterns of vulnerability and strength among states. The results reveal significant regional differences in the tourism sector’s response to crises and provide key insights for designing policies aimed at enhancing its resilience.</p>
