摘要

According to statistics from the World Health Organization, nearly one out of every six individuals worldwide have experienced infertility at some stage in their life. This research was conducted to explore the challenges faced by infertile women across broad domains, including social, cultural, and therapeutic areas. The descriptive phenomenological method was utilized to investigate the experiences of infertile women undergoing treatment in 2022–2023. Participants were selected through purposeful sampling to provide insight, and data collection was performed via semi-structured interviews, continuing until theoretical saturation was reached. Interview analysis was conducted using the Colaizzi coding method and MAXQDA 20 software. The validity of the research results was ensured through the respondent validation method, in which the findings were sent to the participants for their agreement. The analysis revealed several themes: in the social and economic dimension (challenges in relationships with family and friends, job and economic difficulties), the cultural dimension (pressure to have children, reluctance to express infertility issues, hesitance toward adoption, and resistance to divorce), the therapeutic dimension (therapeutic and psychological challenges), and coping strategies (both effective and ineffective). Given the extensive challenges that infertile women face across various domains, it is crucial to implement measures to alleviate or reduce these issues, enabling women to undergo the treatment process more peacefully and with fewer challenges.
