<p>Child labor in Pakistan remains a critical issue, depriving millions of children of education, health, and rights. This study analyzes the news stories of child labor published in Pakistan’s nine newspapers (n = 8038) from 2004 to 2024, focusing on dominant narratives, emotional sentiments, and thematic trends. The findings reveal a frequent use of terms such as ‘government’, ‘education’, and ‘rights’, emphasizing systemic solutions and socio-economic challenges. Emotional sentiment analysis highlights “trust” and “anticipation” as dominant, with “fear” and “sadness” reflecting the issue’s gravity. Five key themes emerge: Legal Protections (44.7%), Local Labor Dynamics (25%), Education (16.1%), Human Rights Advocacy (7.3%), and Societal Impacts (6.9%). The study emphasizes media’s evolving focus and its role in shaping discourse and policy, offering insights for improved advocacy and coverage related to child labor.</p>
