Evaluation of market environment conditions and actual development status of urban bike sharing promotion
摘要
To evaluate the market environment conditions for promoting bike sharing in cities, this study constructed an evaluation index system encompassing six aspects: economic basis, travel demand, public transport layout, construction of public service facilities, climate and weather conditions, and topographic features. Taking 28 cities in China as examples, a mixed methodology combining factor analysis, the entropy weight method, and clustering technique was employed to analyze and compare the similarities and differences among cities. Subsequently, a coordination degree model was introduced to explore the coordination relationship between the actual development state and market potential of bike sharing from the perspectives of scale and efficiency. The results indicate significant disparities among cities in the market environment for bike sharing, which can be categorized into five distinct types. Furthermore, it was observed that the promotion of bike sharing in China remains imbalanced, with the degree of coordination between actual development status and market environment conditions at low or moderate levels. The findings of this research may be of interest to authorities and operators, as they can effectively identify the market potential among different cities and provide a reference for the rational planning and implementation of urban bike sharing promotion.
