<p>Political violence consistently undermines Nigeria’s socio-political stability and economic progress, affecting all six geopolitical zones with varying intensity. This study examines the incidence and fatalities of political violence from 1997 to 2024. The study used a mixed-methods approach, utilizing secondary data from the Armed Conflict Location &amp; Event Data Project (ACLED) and key informant interviews with selected stakeholders, the study reveals notable deaths associated with resource-driven conflicts, insurgencies, and violence related to politics. The study recommended the implementation of participatory early warning systems; strengthening of governance structures; establishment of strong conflict resolution procedures; and improvement in electoral security and integrity.</p>
