<p>Child stunting remains a significant public health challenge with profound long-term consequences for cognitive and physical development. Despite its serious impact, it has received limited research attention in Tanzania. This study investigates the association between household air pollution from unclean cooking fuels and child stunting, using data from the fifth wave of the National Panel Survey (2020/2021). The study used the sample of 3,532 children aged 0–5&#xa0;years old. Ordinary Least Squares and Probit models were employed to estimate the effects of household air pollution on child height-for-age z-scores and the likelihood of child stunting respectively. The findings indicated that the use of clean cooking fuels is associated with improved health outcomes and reduced child stunting. Children living in households using clean cooking fuels are less likely to be stunted compared to those living in households using unclean cooking fuels. The study demonstrates that a transition to clean cooking fuel sources can mitigate child stunting in Tanzania, highlighting the need for policies that promote access to cleaner energy solutions.</p>
