Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Bulky Bis-Hydrazones of [=N-N=C-C=N-N=] Scaffold and Evaluation of Their in vitro Antibacterial Activity
摘要
Schiff-base reactions play an important role in informing several types of hydrazone and bis-hydrazone molecules that hold versatile properties in multipurpose usage specifically for medicinal chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, or pharmaceutical industries. Here, we reported a new kind of fully coupled bulky bis-hydrazone molecules containing [=N-N=C-C=N-N=] scaffold in the middle portion of the molecule, namely BGBH, DMBGBH, TEBBBH, DMBBBH, and TMBBBH, to help to extend the conjugation up to the entire molecular system, which is why in their physical state they appear in a variety of yellows. These five new kinds of fully coupled bulky bis-hydrazone molecules are characterized by 1H-NMR, a high-resolution mass spectrometry technique, and some other interesting physical properties are reported too. All the synthesized compounds showed remarkable antibacterial activity against S. agalactiae. Here, our goal is also to encourage the scientific community to synthesize and evaluate new varieties of bulky bis-hydrazones in the development of medicines for the treatment of critical issues of health and fatal diseases.
